BOSTON DAY SPA AND UNITY PARK
After my delicious breakfast at Skylight Hotel I decided to spend a few hours in the capital city of Addis Ababa. Addis Ababa "new flower" is the capital city and largest city in Ethiopia.
It is one of the world's four highest capitals. The African Union and other international and global organizations have their headquarters here, which is why Addis Ababa is known as the 'political capital of Africa'.

While driving to the highly recommended Boston Day Spa, I noted the city was quite busy despite the global pandemic and current events.
I arrived at Boston Day Spa. Right in the middle of Addis Ababa's busyness, you walk in and are immersed in a different environment of serene music and peaceful ambience.
Boston Day Spa offers a relaxing getaway where one can enjoy as a single person or with friends and family. It’s a great place to go for manicure, pedicure, wax, massage, Moroccan bath and getting your hair done or cut.
If you are in the mood to unwind and pamper yourself after a long day of sightseeing in the city, Boston Spa will exceed your expectations. Just make your appointment in advance to enjoy your experience.

After a delightful time and a refreshing glass of lemon juice at the Boston Day Spa, I headed to Unity Park located at the centre of Addis Ababa. It has recently reopened to the public for tours.
Unity Park
Unity Park is located in the Ethiopian Grand Palace's grounds that seated Ethiopia's great emperors. Located on the hilltops of Addis Ababa, Unity Park opened in October 2019.
The first palace was built in 1887 by King Menelik II and has housed emperors and prime ministers until recently.

The Park includes a museum, a zoo with an endemic black-maned lion, Grevy’s zebra, antelopes, and meerkats.
It also includes an aquarium, green area, a traditional garden, regional states pavilion, a children's playground, restaurants, library and book stores that offer a spectacular welcome to Unity Park. All of the palace buildings have been recently restored and can be toured.
This experience provides an opportunity to learn about Ethiopia's history and better appreciate the many cultures that make up the country.
A visit to Unity Park with a qualified guide is recommended as it is an excellent opportunity to learn about Ethiopia's history.
The guided tour takes about two and a half hours, but there is no limitation on how long you would like to stay in the park after your tour ends. Professional cameras / videos are not allowed.
I was incredibly impressed with the park. My guide was very informative, and I enjoyed every minute. The park is Ethiopia's historical, natural and cultural past, present and future in one place. You will learn so much.
It is such a family-friendly park that kids and adults alike will love. Please wear comfortable shoes. I highly recommend it for all.
