We got to explore the historical beautiful island of Zanzibar that is most popular as a tourist destination for both local and international tourists.
Zanzibar which means Unguja in Swahili is located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of east-central Africa.
In 1964 Zanzibar, together with Pemba Island and some other smaller islands, joined with Tanganyika to form the United Republic of Tanzania.
Stone Town mostly consists of a maze of narrow alleys lined by houses, shops, bazaars and mosques.
The narrow streets and architecture, demonstrates the history and culture from India, Persia and Arab traditions.
The Zanzibar Archipelago Stone Town was declared a world heritage by UNESCO in 2000. The island is a breathtaking location to escape from the world.
You’ll enjoy the clear turquoise-blue water, narrow streets, the slave market, Palace museum, Forodhani food market, Spice Island, Changu/Prison Island, carved doors, Taarab music, film and music festivals or just go to the beach and relax.
